Graciano Corporation receives Historic Preservation Award for Cork Factory


The Historic Review Commission of the City of of Pittsburgh Department of Planning has chosen the Armstrong Cork Factory to receive the 2007 Historic Preservation Award. Each year the Pittsburgh Historic Review commission honors those lived in outstanding preservation projects throughout the city during the previous year. The award was presented to Graciano on Friday, April 27, 2007. Graciano Corporation was instrumental in this historic building’s restoration. Graciano was responsible for cleaning all of the two-building complex’s exterior brick masonry, stone and terra cotta surfaces. The company was also charged with removing extensive accumulations of graffiti, as well as spot-pointing masonry joints, removing and replacing damaged brick, patching or replacing stone architectural features, and repairing damaged terra cotta trim.
