PNC Park Sidewalk Replacement

When PNC Park, the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, was built in 2001, pavers were set in sand beds to form sidewalks around the stadium. Unfortunately, the pavers settled and shifted over time and created dangerous tripping hazards.

To remove the hazardous situation, 62 insets of pavers around the stadium were removed and replaced with gray and gold-tinted concrete.

The project involved:

  • Removing the existing pavers
  • Removing the sand beds
  • Setting forms to create the areas covered in gray concrete
  • Pouring and finishing gray concrete
  • Pouring and finishing gold-tinted concrete
